Immunisations for All Ages
Vaccines help build immunity to life-threatening diseases, protecting individuals and the broader community. We offer vaccinations for:
- Children: From infancy through adolescence, following the National Immunisation Program (NIP).
- Adults: Including catch-up vaccines and boosters for diseases like tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough.
- Seniors: Specialised vaccines for those over 65, such as the shingles and pneumococcal vaccines.
Child Immunisation
Childhood vaccinations are essential for protecting young ones from diseases like measles, mumps, rubella, and polio. Our practice follows the NIP schedule, ensuring your child receives the right vaccines at the right time. We also provide:
- Immunisation History Statements: Easily accessible via your Medicare online account or the Express Plus Medicare App.
- Support for Parents: Guidance on vaccine safety, side effects, and how to prepare your child for their immunisation.
Adult Vaccination
Vaccinations aren’t just for kids – adults need them too! Whether you’re catching up on missed vaccines or staying protected against diseases like influenza and pneumococcal, our GPs can help. Key vaccines for adults include:
- Influenza (Flu) Vaccine: Recommended annually for all adults.
- Whooping Cough Booster: Especially important for new parents and grandparents.
- Shingles Vaccine: For adults aged 50 and over.
Travel Medicine & Vaccination
Planning a trip overseas? Travel vaccinations are a crucial part of preparing for your journey. Our GPs provide:
- Personalised Travel Health Plans: Based on your destination, activities, and medical history.
- Essential Vaccines: Protection against diseases like hepatitis A and B, and more.
- Advice on Travel Health: Tips on avoiding food and waterborne illnesses, insect bites, and other travel-related risks.
Why Vaccinate?
Vaccines save lives by preventing serious illnesses and their complications. They also protect vulnerable groups in the community, including:
- Children under 5
- Pregnant women
- People with chronic medical conditions
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Adults over 65
The Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
The AIR is a national database that records all vaccines given in Australia, including:
- Vaccines funded under the NIP
- School-based vaccines
- Privately funded vaccines (e.g., influenza and travel vaccines)
Accessing Your Immunisation History:
- For Children Under 14: Parents can access their child’s immunisation history via their Medicare online account or the Express Plus Medicare App.
- For Individuals Aged 14+: Due to privacy laws, individuals must access their own immunisation history through their myGov or Medicare account.
